Terms of Service

These terms apply to everyone who uses BrainCognix at braincognix.com, whether you host quizzes, play them or just visit. By using BrainCognix you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

BrainCognix lets tutors and teachers create quizzes and run them as live sessions, and lets students join those sessions with a code. We may add, change or remove features as the product develops.

Accounts

• Give accurate information when you create an account, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us at braincognix@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.
• Students can play without an account. If a student under 18 creates one, they should have permission from a parent, guardian or their school.

Tutors and schools

If you host sessions or keep a student roster, you also agree that:

• you have permission to add any student details you put on BrainCognix;
• you will use students' data and results only for teaching and learning;
• your quizzes are appropriate for the students who will play them.

Your content

You own the quizzes and questions you create. You give us permission to store, display and process them only so we can run the service for you. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use anything you put in a quiz.

Acceptable use

Do not use BrainCognix to:

• post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or harmful to children;
• use offensive or impersonating display names;
• break, overload or get around the security of the service, or access accounts that are not yours;
• cheat with automated tools or scripts;
• collect other users' personal data, or send spam.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. You can stop using BrainCognix at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing braincognix@gmail.com.

Emails

We send emails that are part of the service, such as welcome emails, password resets and session results. We send product news only if you chose to receive it, and you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

No warranty

We work hard to keep BrainCognix running well, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and live sessions can be affected by internet connections outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, BrainCognix is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and we will tell account holders about significant changes. Continuing to use BrainCognix after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
